Having used this software to help me pass my hazard perception part of the motorbike test last week I can say it really helped me. However There are quite a few differences between the type of hazards on the DVD than I found during my test. As a reviewer above states a large proportion of the hazards are cars turning right across traffic, and the scoring window isnt always very well tied in to the video. Like the reviewer above I found clicking two or three times each hazard ensured you werent scoring a Zero for clicking too soon (which is VERY annoying till you learn this trick)
Without this software I am sure I would have failed this part of the test (despite holding a full car licence for 15 years) as my first attempts at the tests I was really unclear what constituted a "developing hazard" in the eyes of the DVLA.
The hazards in this software are for the most part smaller and pettier than those you get in your test but that possibly makes you a: a better and more aware driver/rider and b: makes the test seem simple by comparison - which is what you really want!
Well, in comparison with Focus Multimedia..., 25 Aug 2006
It's probably not as good, thats not to say that its not helpful but their is a limited range of the types of clips. There is however, over 180 clips which means you probably wont be repeating clips.
First off, many clips have been filmed in the same streets, so you can almost anticipate what hazards are coming, not good. Second, loads of clips suggest cars signalling are hazards, there is a big emphasis on this and again not good. In the real theory test, its unlikely that the hazard will just be a car signalling to turn - don't get hung up on that one. There is also a distinct lack of clips where drivers cut across other drivers from different lanes and finally next to no clips filmed in the darkness. Also, if you have lightning quick anticipations, you might be at a disadvantage with this software i.e. you spot the hazard before the computer does. Its always best to click it a few times just to be sure its registered your click in the scoring window.
Use Focus MM, its a better all round help and gives you more a range of hazards and a better idea of what to expect in the real hazard perception test. Don't hesitate to use this software but just beware and establish exactly what hazards it is that you need to spot. Its not always clear, after all the test is still in its early stages, so maybe the DSA will consider improvements in the near future.
Super!, 17 Aug 2006
I failed the hazard perception section on my first theory test by 1 point (d'oh!), so I bought this great piece of software and passed the second time. Not much else to say really - it obviously works! Some of the clips aren't great in quality, meaning it can be difficult to spot the hazards and score full points, but the clips on the actual test aren't much better either. This software also gives a very clear breakdown of the hazards, allowing you to see exactly where you went right or wrong. If you go through all the clips and practice tests on these discs (which should take a few hours), I can't imagine anyone could fail.
Should Definitely be used!!!!, 04 Jul 2006
I bought the LDC 3-in-1 theory test CD, and then bought this one when I decided I needed more practice on the Hazard perception. There were plenty of video clips (180) which means you can practice without having to repeat the same clips over and over. This is particularly useful as, on the actual test, you will be seeing clips you've never seen before. I would say it mimics the actual test very closely. I was achieving scores of 55 to 60 when practicing at home, and got 59 on the actual test (first time pass). The image quality isnt great, but then it isnt on the test either. I'm sure I wouldnt have passed the Hazard perception part of my test without this product - as I failed the first few practice tests, but I soon got the hang of it. Theres planty of background information, and its easy to review where you went wrong. You can also go through your weakest clips to see which type of hazards you seem to be missing.
Just one tiny negative. It would have been handy to have one or 2 night time clips, I had one on my actual test, although it didnt pose a problem. Other than that it was great!
good value for money, 08 May 2006
This was a very good peice of software, interactive, allowing you to control the progress of the feedback and moving forward if you didn't want to sit through a count down.
There are too many clips of cars with break lights comming on, but generally the hazards are real, quality is reasonable, but what I liked most is the way you can anlyse the results by watching the time slider proceed to the clicking window, you can see when you actually clicked the mouse and when you should have clicked the mouse. I'm also working on a BSM hazard preception peice of software, LCD beats this hands down.

Best product to guarentee a pass on your theory test!, 31 Aug 2007
I'm 17, and brought this item a few weeks ago with some Amazon vouchers, as I had my theory test early this morning....and guess what...I passed first time!
This product comes with 2 CD's & a DVD, also they're so sure you'll pass if you use this product everyday like I did, that IF you do fail, you'll recieve £50 of their software vouchers.
I found the customer service very helpful as I did have a few problems with the theory questions part of the disk, I couldn't resolve it, but I still passed!
There's over 100 hazard perception clips, most of which I didn't get round to using, but unlike a book, it explains everything and reviews each and every clip that you get wrong to point out where our going wrong.
For a first time pass, be sure to buy this, not a bad price either, espeicially as I got it for free with amazon vouchers!

This product is not the best and is somewhat annoying ,I passed my theory test with the driving test sucsess theory disk by focus that was soo much better, someone gave this to me as they were finished with it and i was interested in the pratyical part of the disk however i thought id test my theory skills again although ive already passed, what annoyed me was that each clip on the hazard perception had to load up after each clip this took about 40 sec between each clip, the theory questions were divided into separate categories,so you would only be asked questions from your selected category instead of them all being mixed,it had a tendancey to repeat qiestionsbecause of this.you can learn using this but personally I would recomend pass your theory test by FOCUS that gets top marks from me!!. PASS!!!!, 08 Jul 2005
Bought this a couple of weeks ago to prepare for the hazard perception part of the Theory test. Apparently only 1 in 2 people pass the theory test now and I wanted to be the 1 that passed it. At first I found it a little difficult as I wasnt sure if I was suppose to click at all hazards or try to identify the one they were looking for. However as it turns out if you read the insturuction and help section its failrly simple - click when you see a hazard and when it develops. I practiced it for a couple of weeks and had my test. I passed the test first time! I actually found this CD a little harder than the test so I would recommend it to anyone who has the theory test comming up and wants to pass. I found the test a breeze and I'm sure that's because I had this to help me prepare for it. Highly recommended!
Just about a pass, 16 Apr 2005
This cd rom is crammed full of theory questions, for both the written and hazard perception sections of the test, which was fab. Loads of questions to test yourself on and hints if you get stuck, plus a way to check your answers, see how your doing and keep track of the areas you aren't doing so well on. However, the cd advertises a section on the practical test which I can't find anywhere. In fact I found the whole cd a bit confusing and really badly laid out. Although the content of the cd that I DID find was really good, I felt a bit let down at the repetition of the answers time and time again and the lack of practical section!! Overall, an ok CD but I'm sure there are better ones out there
Pass your test!, 03 Jul 2004
Great product. Covers all three tests theory, hazard anfd pracvtical has everything you need to pass. Theory tests contains all the official dsa theory test question bank with more than 800 questions for car drivers and 380 plus for motorcyclists. Hazard percepton clips were very helpful, 8 official DSA clips and 100 over all new 2004 driving test report form shows exactly how you will be marked on your test. Maater progress report to help you keep trak of where you are and what yoiu need to do to be ready for your test.Full copy of the highway code which you can read from cd or you can print. Free driving lesson with LDC, third largest driving school in uk and discounted course of lesson if you want to use there school. Even has a pass guarentee!!
For a first time pass, be sure to buy this, not a bad price either, espeicially as I got it for free with amazon vouchers! not the best!, 03 Feb 2006

Great!, 01 Oct 2008
I'm not quite 17 yet, but I bought this disk a few months ago in the hope that it would help - and it has! It has made me confident for when I start to learn to drive and for my theory test... would recommend it for anyone learning to drive! Worth the money, 17 Oct 2006

Driving Gift Pack!, 26 Feb 2006
I bought this for my mum to use, my mum has taken driving lessons before and had taken a driving test but failed her driving test and really didn't want to take it again! That was in 1990 now in 2006 I have managed to persuade her to take lessons again but my mum doesn't like computers very much, as it is a big learning curve! So I bought her this and it is a very easy to use program 'WHEN YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS' I also purchased the theory test book for my mum which was a great help! I just hope she passes her test now! Give it ago and purchase this item...it is definatley worth the money!
Very helpful!, 03 Feb 2006
I would definately recommend this for anyone learing to drive. Especially at the low price!
